……and what better way to begin than to talk about the origins of Innovate Alarms.

Innovate Alarms was actually born in Burger King in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. Read on to find out how it all came about.

Way back in 2008 Donny dreamed up the name Innovate (originally ‘security’) Alarms. He got right on it trying to design a logo that he liked as much as the name. After playing around with fonts and colours he finally nailed it. The Innovate logo is a positive message. The V represents a green tick which screams out positivity from the get-go. The logo and name says everything it needs to, and it also includes our web address which is a bonus. And so far, the logo has stood the test of time, looking as fresh and clean today as it did back in 2008 when it was created.

Previous to this and after learning his trade with ESS in Kirkintilloch, Daniel had started up his own security business named CJ Alarms. The business had been running for 3 years and was doing well.  Donny and Daniel had known each other for a short time through working in the same industry. Donny was looking for someone to start Innovate Alarms with but it couldn’t just be anyone. It had to be an engineer that was known to be excellent at his trade and stand out amongst other engineers, someone who was not shy of work, someone who was approachable, friendly, trustworthy, forward thinking and positive. Daniel fitted the bill exactly.

Both Daniel and Donny agreed to meet and discuss the possibility of starting up Innovate Alarms. Daniel admits himself that he attended the meeting with absolutely no intention of joining forces. At the meeting Donny showed Daniel the Innovate logo and almost instantly Daniel said “I’m in” lol. That initial meeting took place in Burger King in Bishopbriggs.

The rest as they say is history, but we do intend at some point creating Part Two of Our First Blog 🙂
